Privacy Policy

A short, plain-English summary of how The Burger Lab handles your information.

The short version

We’re a small, family-run burger spot. We only collect the bare minimum needed to run loyalty stamps, leaderboards, and the referral programme. We don’t sell your data and we don’t share it with advertisers.

What we collect

  • Account info: your name and email when you sign up. If you sign in with Google, we receive your Google profile name and email.
  • Loyalty activity: stamps you earn, vouchers redeemed, and your monthly leaderboard score.
  • Referrals: the friends you invite via your referral link, so we can credit you the bonus points.
  • Basic device info: what kind of device you’re on, so the app works correctly. No location tracking.

What we do NOT collect

  • We do not track your location.
  • We do not store payment card details — orders are paid in person.
  • We do not collect any data from minors under 13.

How we use it

  • To run your loyalty card, vouchers, leaderboard, and referrals.
  • To send you the occasional important account email (e.g. password reset).
  • To improve the app — we look at aggregate usage, not individuals.

Where it lives

Account data and loyalty records are stored on our backend (Supabase, hosted on AWS servers in Europe). The app itself is hosted on Vercel.

Your rights

You can request a copy of your data, ask us to correct it, or delete your account entirely. Email us at hello@burgerlab.co.za and we’ll sort it within 7 days.

Cookies

We use a single session cookie to keep you signed in. No tracking cookies, no third-party advertising cookies.

Changes to this policy

If we change anything material we’ll let you know in the app. Small wording tweaks may happen without notice.
